Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
Whether alone or with others at table, we can say grace before and after meals to thank God for is goodness in providing our daily food. Our minds are turned, too, to those who are poor or whose food is meagre, who may lack the bare minimum, and we commit to reaching out to them with compassion and generosity.
The following prayers are simple ideas and examples of grace before and after meals.
Bless , O, Lord, this food for our use and us to your service, and make us ever mindful of the needs of others.
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host:
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
We thank, you, Lord for this food which you provide, and those who have prepared it, and pray that those who are hungry will have their fill, and gather us all together at the table of your heavenly kingdom. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
We thank you, Lord, for your loving gifts of food and drink which nourish and sustain us. May we freely give to others what you have generously given to us, and that we may all come to share in the banquet of heaven. Through Christ our Lord.
“The eyes of all creatures look to you to give them food in due season.
